The Dinner is one of our most creative pieces directed by Ana Manzano. This is a project open to being interpreted in many ways, although our director was based on the concept of false expectations or those actions that are taken for granted that will happen in a concrete way (and everything indicates that this will be the case), but that finally they do not happen as one expects.
The gesture of passing the ball, heavy and on the verge of falling, makes the tension that we tried to transmit to develop this tense and cold story of a couple whose communication seems to have been rusted.
For this piece, the art direction was the key: we built a set where all the focus is the central table of 3 meters of amplitude, which allowed us to have a certain route to pass the ball through the table from one side to the other, and emphasize the concept of distance between the two characters. The same with the costumes, we opted for the combination of complementary colors.
